UAM Reschedules Forum to Thursday Evening
Today, the owner of the Elks Plaza informed me that he was in need of fuel for the building and that the fuel would be secured for Thursday. It was unlikely that the fuel could be secured for Wednesday. Given the Nor’easter and the lack of fuel, “Community Cop and Alton Maddox will be at the Elks Plaza, 1068 Fulton Street (nr. Classon Ave.) in Brooklyn on Thursday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m.
After the expected Nor’easter and the devastating consequences of “Hurricane Sandy” a massive relief effort must be undertaken by Blacks for displaced Blacks. It was error for Mayor Michael Bloomberg to discourage President Barack Obama from coming to New York.
“All politics is local”. Black selected officials have not fared well in securing an equitable share of goods, services and contracts. UAM had to intervene in Princeville, NC after Black selected officials fumbled the ball. The effects of Hurricane Floyd were devastating to Black residents. Blacks in the tri-state led by UAM were heroic after Hurricane Floyd .
A successful relief effort for Blacks in the tri-state will occur on Thursday evening at the Elks Plaza in Brooklyn. Supporters and concerned persons need to turn out en-masse. People’s lives are hanging in the balance. We cannot take a chance on Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Michael Bloomberg to save our people.
