“Celebrating Marcus Garvey: Past, Present and Future”

The Social Services Employees Union Local 371 is holding its Annual Caribbean Heritage Celebration at DC 37 Headquarters, 125 Barclay Street, New York, NY on June 24, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. Their theme this year is “Celebrating Marcus Garvey: We Are One. We Shall Not Be Moved,”

In line with this year’s theme, Alton Maddox as keynote speaker, will be discussing “Marcus Garvey:  Past, Present and Future.”  “A race without a history is like a tree without roots.”  People of African ancestry need HELP. This event will precede my first court appearance in a New York court since May 21, 1990.  This will be a historic weekend.

The celebration at DC37 on June 24, 2016 is free.  This is also an opportunity for the community to participate in a fundraiser for Alton Maddox and a Garvey-inspired third party at the Cotton Cub in Harlem on July 21, 2016 to acquire a necessary library collection to provide changes in New York’s retaliatory and discriminatory laws, which particularly affect children of African ancestry.

Also, on Friday June 24, 2016 at2:30 p.m., I will be a guest on “The Shomari Show” aired on WURD-900 AM in Philadelphia, PA.   Bro. Shomari/Eric Grimes penned “Why Our Children Hate Us.”  The discussion on Friday will focus on his book.  New York’s public policy on children is particularly disturbing.

The Shomari Show airs on WURD 900AM in Philadelphia every Friday from1 – 4 p.m. It also live stream atwww.900amwurd.com and also through their free app (900am WURD).  The call-in line is 215.634.8065
