Dear Member:

If we have any political ambitions in the United States and every Black person should have political goals, the political cycle starts at the beginning of the year and ends on Election Day in November 2013.  Plantation politics exists when you wait until September 10, 2013, for example, to become active in the political process.  This is the date of the New York primary.

Those persons who will design the 2013 ballot in New York are already at work.  If you intend to dine in New York on September 10, 2013 and you want to eat your favorite food, the design and publication of the menu is already a work in progress.  The Irish, the Israelis and the Italians are already at work putting their favorite foods on the menu.  “Soul food”, however, may not be on the menu.

Blacks must also plan a political convention for no later than May 19, 2013 in New York.  This political convention must have two main purposes. First and foremost, Blacks must prepare a “political agenda” for 2013.  Secondly, there must be a “nominating convention” for all Black, municipal candidates in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

A political campaign must have a political message and a philosophical identification of candidates.  The airwaves must be receptive to messages delivered by Blacks.  Even though the airwaves belong to the public, the Federal Communications Commission makes every effort to provide a dual system of communications; that is, “public affairs” for whites and “arts and entertainment” for Blacks.

To participate effectively in the political process, there must be informed and educated voters.  There must be a mastery of voter registration, voter education and political education.  For more than the past year, I have written an article, at least, daily on law and politics.  Similar, well-written articles can only be found in political and legal journals.  In the future, the Black community and especially Black voters must bear this burden.

Under the law, Black selected officials are given enough funds to undertake the needs of their constituents.  They choose to convert these public funds into private funds.  This is highway robbery but since the victims are Black voters, there is no public harm.  Uninformed Black voters actually promote white supremacy.

Only “members” of political groups actually participate in the political process.  The Freedom Party and “Friends of Like It Is” constitute such groups. A mayoral candidate must be able to muster 7,500 valid signatures in New York City.  In 2010, the Freedom Party was able to secure at least 25,000 valid signatures in New York City alone.  The Freedom Party has the muscle to put candidates on the 2013 ballot.

There will be a political and legal seminar and a breakfast buffet at the Cotton Club, 656 West 125th Street in Harlem on this Saturday morning, February 23, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.  There is a bevy of items on this agenda to prepare for 2013 municipal elections in New York City.  It was “party time” for Black selected officials this past weekend in Albany.  They have no plans for November.
